i answered this from Aleli’s blog. Na-hook up na lang ako.

Nathan Petrelli. Taken from

Nathan Petrelli
You scored 16 Idealism, 20 Nonconformity, 37 Nerdiness (ay, talaga ha…)

I’m a shark, Pete.
You’re Nathan Petrelli! You’ve got all the qualities of a stereotypical politician. You’re ambitious, practical, and you’ve got more than a healthy sex drive. (wow…)

Still, as much you want to succeed in your field, you don’t enjoy the attention that comes from being “different”, and you are willing to lie to fit the image you want to present.

Your worst quality: Ambition–you will make your way to the top of any career. (pwede.)
Your worst quality: Anything for the votes–you will do whatever it takes. (eh, talaga?)

Bottom line. Hindi ako ito. Awas.

ah, emo mode. ah, the wallowing…

The Places You Have Come To Fear The Most
Dadhboard Confessional

Buried deep as you can dig inside yourself
And covered with a perfect shell
Such a charming, beautiful exterior
Laced with brilliant smiles and shining eyes
Perfect posture, but you’re barely scraping by
But you’re barely scraping by

This is one time, this is one time
That you can’t fake it hard enough to please everyone
Or anyone at all…or anyone at all
And the grave that you refuse to leave
The refuge that you’ve built to flee

The places that you’ve come to fear the most
It’s the place that you have come to fear the most

Buried deep as you can dig inside yourself
And hidden in the public eye
Such a stellar monument to loneliness
Laced with brilliant smiles and shining eyes
Perfect make-up, but you’re barely scraping by
But you’re barely scraping by…

Well this is one time, well this is one time
That you can’t fake it hard enough to please everyone
Or anyone at all…or anyone at all
And the grave that you refuse to leave
The refuge that you’ve built to flee
The places that you’ve come to fear the most
It’s the place that you have come to fear the most

the X in Ismail Ax

as of late, i have been finishing the biography of well-known psycho Ed Gein. he was a notorious serial killer back in the 1950s. even though he just killed two people, he was proclaimed a serial killer. what made him a serial killer was his active interest in necrophilia. he greatly divulged in this. he dug up graves of middle-aged women, peeled their skin, cut them and dressed them up (he literally took their innards). he cured the skins, made these into masks, vests, belts and other things and paraded into these ghastly makeshift clothes. he also made some parts of those cadavers as home furnishings. he made these acts of horrendous proportions because he was deeply mad about his mother. he is one hell of a sick dude.

after following the Virginia Tech massacre, i have been deeply intrigued by the reason as to how Cho Seung-hui became a very demented person. reports have said that he was a loner and that he wrote violent and gory plays. and as of late, NBC was said to have received a package from Cho. it contained a video tape of his anger, in which he was ranting and cursing ‘rich kids’ and their ‘hedonism’ and ‘debauchery,’ and photos of him literally ‘dressed’ to kill.

i have only found and read a little about Cho’s background besides the testimonies of Ian McFarlane, who was his classmate in playwriting before. there was bits of information about his family. it was said that his parents where working for the dry cleaners and that he had an older sister and that his fathers was a silent man who didn’t like to talk to his neighbors.

i have also read some interesting things about Cho. there have been many speculative writings as to how and why he did that murderous rampage. among this was the name Ismail Ax, that he had written in red ink on his arm. there have been much buzz about it. this is one of those articles. here is another. and here.

most of these question Cho’s choice of the words. it is a mystery as to how he chose the name. it is just a pair of words but a lot people have been disputing as to how it really meant and what it really is. and the strange thing is, people have been connecting the words to Islam. oh, man. here we go again.

but really, people are really missing the real X. the X that marks the spot.

to see the X i guess, no, i wish they would first see Cho. i wish they had more on how and who Cho really was. i wish they had more on his family.

i believe that he what he done is unforgivable. even though he has already been cast him off as a sick person for what he has done. but he is a social being. he was part of society. he was part of the system. he was influenced by it. the system made him.

such deviant behavior can only be traced as to how it was formed and developed. in Cho’s case, his family, his environment, how he brought up and how he was brought up might give a peek into how the trigger-happy and demented person that he has been tagged came to be.

i wish the American authorities can dig deeper into the case. i wish Americans would introspect deeper into their society and see what it is like to be an poor Asian immigrant.

after a few minutes of browsing the net, i chanced upon these blogs which can help people, like me, understand Cho Seung-hi.

vivianjung explains something called the ‘korean dilemma.’ it is interesting how people reacted on her speculations. ang galing na lang. napa-oo ako.

another blog said something about Cho’s behavior in class, especially in one of his writing classes, particularly that of American poet Nikki Giovanni. this is what people have said on that blog.

Pacquiao blacklisted

here comes another smashing left hook.

just after his Blaze of Glory bout, Pacquiao receives another blow after the Black and White Movement, a political advocacy group, has selected the internationally renowned boxer among its blacklisted politicians for this coming elections.

despite all the acclaim and glory that Pacquiao has been receiving, this small but powerful blow is another hindrance to his campaign for a congressional seat in General Santos City.

see the rationale of the blacklist campaign here.

sunday’s Blaze of Glory was such a bore.

even though he won, it was tantamount to nothing.

his foe was a patsy. a light puncher with a weak chin.

he was so sure of himself that he toyed with his prey for several rounds. i don’t know if he didn’t have what it takes to knock him down or he was just so proud of himself.

and it took a hell of a headbutt to bring him back to his senses. he knocked the patsy fighter senseless.

i really hope he gets disqualified. for good.

Conrado de Quiros is a prophet

He is really a visionary.

Reacting on an article written about Alex Lacson’s theory as why and how Filipinos can be considered to be God’s chosen people, de Quiros came up with this.

And he is very right.

Beck’s Coming…

It’s really here!

Beck aka Mongolian Chop Squad was one of my guilty pleasures back in college.

It’s basically about a group of music junkies, their rock band, their soulful music and their dream to be one of the best bands in the world. Plain and simple.

For an anime geek, the story reeks of mediocrity. There’s a lot of stuff out there that features a particular sphere of interest like sports, sex and violence. But for a music afficionado, Beck is kinda interesting.

I first got hooked with the anime. It had plain but intriguing animation, incredible story, boring dialogues and amazing music. I followed the first few episodes and I got bored.

It was the manga that got me really interested. Talk about a story that revolves around music. HOW on Earth could you TELL music on a visual medium?! And the art was stylistic. It was inventive, (the chapter covers were usually spoofed from influential album jackets, it reminded me of Warhol) and the author was successful in letting you hear the music on paper. It had a lot of rock history and was very accurate.

And now, the anime has come to Manila. It will air on the 14th. I wish I had cable. Ugh.

And here are the specifics. And too bad I wasn’t able to go to the launch.

I can’t imagine Sam Concepcion as Koyuki. E pinipiyok pa yun eh. God. But I have high hopes for Jett Pangan and Rico Blanco. I don’t know how will Raimund Marasigan treat Taira’s character. I can’t imagine how the Filipino dubbers will make the local rendition of Baby Star or Spice or even the heavenly Moon on the River. Maybe they’ll butcher the whole series. Read this.

Hala, excited na ako. Kaso wala akong Hero TV. Pwe.

He really went for it.

[Note: i wrote this weeks ago. Just didn’t have the time to post it.]

This guy is really unbelievable.

He really went for it, even though he’s really out of shape and he face got cut in a cheap-shot sparring practice. he says that it’s only a scratch. But the thing is, he’s wounded. Tough luck.

Real tough luck for us, too. He made his lawyer file for his candidacy even though he’s been disqualified by the Commission on Elections chief. He went for the cake when no one was looking.

I don’t know if he’s callous or he just doesn’t understand the gravity of his actions.

Or maybe, he has really gone bonkers. Maybe all those jabs, straights and hooks have bonked his noggin. A lot of boxers have gone bonkers. Muhammad Ali is already bonked. But let’s give it to Ali, he’s a real artist in the ring and he’s a champ. And Pacman, is no one. (Except that he’s Ring magazine’s Pound for Pound fighter of the year and the endorser of Extreme Magic Sing. Sheeut.)

I agree with Mr. Arturo Topacio, Jr. of Cavite City. He wrote this in the Inquirer.

Ah, to hell with him. I wish after this Blaze of Glory fight, he’ll be given a nice good KO punch in the jaw that’ll leave him dead like that poor Pinoy prizefighter who went down, and never stood up, in Thailand.

But, oops, if Pacman will end up dead, he’ll win all the sympathy of the world. Tough luck for us again. And may be they’ll incarcerate Solis and cricufy him.

Hay, I really hope something will happen. Something that’ll bring the People’s Champ back to earth.
